Best BSc Radiology Colleges: Quick Comparison
This is a decision shortlist, not an ordinal ranking. “Best” means the most suitable verified option for a student’s admission route, budget, location and clinical-training needs. A college is not placed above another merely because it has a large campus, stronger advertising or a high general placement package.
Evidence Status at a Glance
BSc Radiology, BMRIT, BSc RIT and BSc MIT Explained
Students commonly search “BSc Radiology,” but the official award can use a different title. Similar names may lead to imaging-technology careers, yet the duration, curriculum, internship and higher-study eligibility can differ.
GGSIPU gives a useful 2026 example: the programme earlier described as B.Sc. Medical Imaging Technology now uses the revised nomenclature B.MRIT—Bachelor of Medical Radiology and Imaging Technology, under CET Code 134.
Does BSc Radiology Make You a Radiologist?
No. A radiologist is a medical doctor who completes MBBS and postgraduate specialist training in radiology. A BMRIT or B.Sc. Radiology graduate is trained for medical-imaging technology work such as patient positioning, image acquisition, equipment operation, image-quality support, documentation and radiation-safety practice within an authorised clinical team.
The technologist supports safe image creation. The authorised medical practitioner interprets the images and issues the diagnostic report.
How the Colleges Were Shortlisted
The shortlist was built around the information that directly affects a BMRIT student. It does not assign an artificial 1–10 rank when course-level evidence is incomplete.
Unsupported awards, general placement claims and photographs of scanners were not treated as proof of programme quality. If an essential figure could not be reproduced from a current document, it is marked as unclear or requiring written confirmation.
Live 2026 Admission Status
Admission stages can change quickly in August. This table records what was displayed when the guide was checked; it is not a promise that a particular seat remains vacant.
Seat availability is dynamic. A round-one intake is not the number of seats left today. BoostMyTalent can check the applicable route before you submit a form or make a payment.

AIIMS New Delhi
AIIMS New Delhi is a high-competition central option for students seeking medical radiology and imaging technology. Its 2026 undergraduate allied-health admission system lists the Bachelor of Medical Radiology and Imaging Technology route.
Admission 2026: Follow the BMRIT/allied-health application and seat-allocation process for the current session. Do not use an MBBS, nursing or unrelated course form.
Fee status: This guide does not publish an old or unverified AIIMS fee as a 2026 BMRIT amount. The exact intake and payable fee must match the current allotment/admission document.
Clinical value to examine: AIIMS offers a major tertiary-care setting, but applicants should still confirm the department allocation, batch structure and internship terms for the exact BMRIT cohort.
Best suited for: Strong applicants targeting a central public institute and prepared for a highly competitive admission route.
VMMC and Safdarjung Hospital Through GGSIPU
GGSIPU’s current programme is B.MRIT—Bachelor of Medical Radiology and Imaging Technology, CET Code 134. Its 2026 counselling notice identifies the VMMC/Safdarjung route and states that the seats are distributed on an all-India basis.

Payment at counselling: The notice specifies ₹60,000 as part academic/seat-acceptance fee. It is not the complete programme cost; the balance institute fee is separate.
Clinical value to examine: The hospital-linked setting is attractive. Ask for the actual BMRIT rotation plan across general radiography, CT, MRI and any other available imaging services.
Best suited for: Students seeking a Delhi hospital-linked public route through a defined CET and counselling process.
Government Institute of Medical Sciences, Greater Noida
The Institute of Paramedical Science at Government Institute of Medical Sciences—GIMS Greater Noida appears in the ABVMU 2026 bachelor counselling matrix for B.MRIT. The round-one matrix displayed an intake of 60 seats. That number describes the intake shown at the start of the round, not current vacancy.
Admission 2026: Admission is through ABVMU centralised counselling based on normalized Class 12 PCB aggregate marks. There is no separate bachelor CAHET entrance score or rank.
Government-college eligibility: In addition to the PCB, English, age and category rules explained later, applicants to an ABVMU government college need a valid Uttar Pradesh domicile certificate or must have passed both Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations in Uttar Pradesh.
Fee status: Request the current BMRIT course fee. An MBBS, nursing or unrelated paramedical fee must not be substituted.
Clinical value to examine: GIMS is attached to a government medical institute with radiodiagnosis services. Confirm scheduled hours, clinical batch size and supervised access to X-ray, CT, MRI and digital workflow.
Best suited for: Eligible students seeking a government BMRIT option in Greater Noida through PCB-merit counselling.
Private and Deemed-University BMRIT Options
Private and deemed-university options offer more locations and admission pathways. Fee formats differ widely, so compare a total with a total, an annual amount with an annual amount and a semester amount with a semester amount.

Before choosing either option, compare its current counselling status, complete fee, clinical hospital, imaging modalities, students per shift and internship arrangement. Round-one intake is not current vacancy.
HRIT University, Ghaziabad
Medical Radiology and Imaging Technology has been shared as an HRIT admission option. However, the public undergraduate directory reviewed on 2 August 2026 did not display a separate course-level BMRIT page.
Before payment, obtain written confirmation of:
- Exact degree title printed on the final award
- Awarding university and academic department
- Class 12 eligibility and selection route
- Academic duration and compulsory internship
- Complete semester/year-wise fee
- Hospital posting site and modality-wise rotations
- Refund conditions and authorised payment account
Best suited for: Ghaziabad-side students who want BoostMyTalent to help verify the course documents before deciding.
Lingaya’s Vidyapeeth, Faridabad: A Related B.Voc Route
Lingaya’s Vidyapeeth lists B.Voc in Radiology and Medical Imaging Technology, a six-semester vocational degree. It is related to medical imaging, but it is not the same award as BMRIT or B.Sc. RIT.
The programme describes a vocational, work-oriented structure with multiple exit points. Compare the final award, internship, clinical facility and postgraduate eligibility before choosing it as an alternative to BMRIT.
Best suited for: Faridabad-side students intentionally seeking a skill-focused B.Voc qualification.
BSc Radiology and BMRIT Fees in Delhi NCR 2026
Every figure below keeps the period in which it was published. A semester fee, annual tuition, admission payment and headline full-course figure are not directly comparable.
Which Has the Lowest Published Private BMRIT Fee?
Santosh displays the lowest headline full-course figure among the reviewed private options, at ₹2.10 lakh, but its inclusions and ₹97,000 admission payment still require written verification. It should not be called the cheapest complete option until the mandatory charges and payment schedule are confirmed.
Government routes may cost less, but they should be compared only after obtaining the current course-specific payable fee. Never compare Santosh’s headline total with SGT’s annual fee, Galgotias’ annual tuition or Jamia’s semester fee as if they were the same unit.
Eight Fee Items to Compare
- Semester or academic-year tuition.
- Admission, registration and enrolment charges.
- Examination and university charges.
- Laboratory, clinical and imaging-department charges.
- Uniform, ID, insurance and equipment charges.
- Internship-year fee and stipend status.
- Hostel, mess, transport and hospital-posting travel.

BSc Radiology Admission in Delhi NCR 2026
There is no single BMRIT admission form for all Delhi NCR colleges. Use the route attached to the exact institution.
ABVMU BMRIT Admission: Correct 2026 Rule
ABVMU’s 2026 bachelor bulletin is direct: allied-health bachelor admissions are made through centralised counselling based on aggregate Class 12 Physics, Chemistry and Biology marks after normalization across boards.
The admission portal may be labelled CAHET 2026, but bachelor applicants do not receive a separate CAHET entrance-test score or rank. Direct college admission outside the prescribed counselling route should not be assumed.
ABVMU BMRIT Eligibility for 2026–27
- Minimum age: 17 years on or before 31 December 2026.
- General/General-EWS: at least 50% aggregate in PCB and a pass in English.
- SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD: 40% aggregate in PCB, as applicable, and a pass in English.
- Registration fee stated in the bulletin: ₹750 for UR/OBC applicants and ₹500 for SC/ST/PwD applicants.
- Recognised open-school/NIOS candidates may be eligible when the required science subjects and English conditions are met.
- Medical fitness is required.
- Only Indian citizens are eligible under the stated bulletin rules.
- For an ABVMU government college, the applicant needs UP domicile or must have passed both Classes 10 and 12 in Uttar Pradesh.
How ABVMU Merit Is Prepared
PCB marks are normalized across boards through the stated Z-score method. If candidates tie, the sequence considers Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English, older age and then Class 10 percentage. Final allotment follows merit and counselling choices.
This means a student’s useful lead profile is: PCB percentage, category, UP domicile or UP Class 10/12 status, and ABVMU registration/counselling status—not a CAHET rank.
GGSIPU BMRIT Admission: CET Code 134
GGSIPU uses CET merit and programme-specific offline counselling for B.MRIT, CET Code 134. The first 2026 B.MRIT counselling notice was issued on 23 June, followed by a second offline/open-house notice on 20 July.
Candidates should carry the documents required in the applicable notice and understand that the ₹60,000 payment is only the part academic/seat-acceptance amount.
2026 Admission Calendar

Is NEET Required for BSc Radiology or BMRIT in 2026?
No, NEET is not compulsory for every BSc Radiology or BMRIT college in Delhi NCR in 2026. The selection rule is institution-specific.
- Jamia Hamdard: NEET merit is stated for BMRIT in the 2026–27 prospectus.
- VMMC/Safdarjung through GGSIPU: CET Code 134 merit and counselling.
- GIMS, Santosh and other ABVMU colleges: normalized Class 12 PCB merit and centralised counselling.
- AIIMS New Delhi: AIIMS undergraduate allied-health process.
- Selected private universities: Class 12 merit, counselling or another current course-level process.
Therefore, both blanket claims—“NEET is compulsory everywhere” and “NEET is never needed”—are incorrect.
Can I Get BMRIT Admission Without NEET?
Yes. GGSIPU, ABVMU and selected private-university routes do not use NEET as their 2026 BMRIT selection basis. However, “without NEET” does not mean “without eligibility or counselling.” You must still qualify through the exact route used by the college.
BMRIT Eligibility in Delhi NCR 2026
Most regular BMRIT and B.Sc. Radiology programmes require Physics, Chemistry and Biology in Class 12. English, minimum marks, age, category relaxation and open-school acceptance differ.
Can PCM Students Apply?
Do not assume that Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics is accepted. The main regular BMRIT routes reviewed here specify Biology. A PCM-only candidate needs written course-level eligibility confirmation before applying.
Can NIOS or Open-School Students Apply?
ABVMU permits recognised open-school candidates when its required science-subject and English conditions are satisfied. Jamia’s 2026–27 prospectus also describes a National Open School route with specified subjects. The exact institution rule still applies.
Documents Commonly Required
- Class 10 marksheet and passing certificate
- Class 12 marksheet and passing certificate
- NEET/CET credentials or counselling registration, where applicable
- Aadhaar or another accepted identity proof
- Passport-size photographs
- Transfer and migration certificates
- Character certificate
- Category, EWS, PwD or domicile certificate, where applicable
- Medical fitness certificate
- Gap affidavit, if required
- Anti-ragging declarations

Clinical Training Checklist for BSc Radiology Colleges
Verified clinical training is one of the most important indicators of whether a programme can prepare students for imaging-department work. A modern classroom or equipment photograph cannot replace supervised patient care and a documented rotation plan.
Ask These 12 Questions Before Admission
- Is the training hospital owned, formally attached or only named in a general tie-up?
- Which imaging departments take BMRIT students each semester?
- How many supervised clinical-posting hours are scheduled each week?
- How many students share one shift, console or supervisor?
- Do rotations include general X-ray, mobile radiography, CT and MRI?
- Is fluoroscopy, mammography or interventional observation available where appropriate?
- Who supervises procedures and signs the clinical logbook?
- Are patient identification, positioning, infection control and emergency response assessed?
- Are PACS, RIS and digital image-handling workflows taught?
- Is the internship guaranteed at a named site?
- Are internship fees payable, and is any stipend offered?
- Can the college show an anonymised rotation schedule and completed logbook?
Radiation Safety Is Essential
Diagnostic X-ray facilities require the applicable AERB licence or registration. Ask for the status of the clinical facilities actually used by students—not simply the name of a hospital group.
A strong programme should teach:
- ALARA and dose optimisation
- Time, distance and shielding
- Personal monitoring and correct use of TLD badges where applicable
- Patient and staff protection
- Pregnancy-screening procedures
- Equipment quality assurance
- Repeat-image analysis
- Exposure-incident reporting
- Responsibilities within the approved radiation-safety system
MRI does not use ionising radiation, but it has separate risks. Students should learn magnet-zone control, implant and metal screening, projectile prevention, hearing protection, emergency response and contrast workflow under authorised supervision.
A Scanner on Campus Does Not Prove Student Access
Ask how often undergraduates enter the department, what they may observe or perform under supervision and how competence is recorded. Marketing photographs are not a substitute for posting hours, clinical shifts and signed logbooks.
BMRIT Subjects, Internship and Career Scope
A strong programme combines medical science, imaging physics, equipment, patient care, safety and supervised practice.
What Should the Internship Include?
The internship should have named clinical sites, defined rotations, supervision, attendance, competency records and assessment. It should not be an informal promise that training will be arranged later.
Before admission, obtain the internship duration, department list, fee, stipend status, insurance, shift timing and completion-certificate conditions in writing.
Career Options After BMRIT
Graduates may work in hospitals, diagnostic centres, medical colleges, imaging chains, healthcare-technology services and imaging-equipment companies, subject to employer and professional requirements.
Common roles include:
- Radiologic or radiography technologist
- X-ray technologist
- CT technologist after suitable supervised training
- MRI technologist after suitable supervised training
- Mammography technologist where trained and authorised
- Cath-lab or interventional-imaging technical support
- PACS/RIS support professional
- Imaging quality-assurance assistant
- Clinical applications specialist
- Academic or research support after relevant higher education
Salary varies by city, employer, modality, shift pattern, clinical competence and experience. A general university placement package is not reliable evidence of a BMRIT graduate’s salary.
Higher Studies After BMRIT
Possible pathways include MMRIT, M.Sc. Medical Imaging Technology, imaging specialisations, healthcare management, hospital administration, public health, education and research. Eligibility depends on the exact bachelor’s award, internship and postgraduate institution.
Which BSc Radiology College Is Best for Your Profile?
Location, Hostel and Commute
- Delhi: AIIMS, VMMC/Safdarjung and Jamia are the main options in this guide.
- Greater Noida: GIMS, NIU, Galgotias, Sharda, Kailash and NIMT provide multiple comparisons.
- Ghaziabad: Santosh and HRIT are relevant for eastern NCR applicants.
- Gurugram: SGT may reduce travel for western and southern NCR students.
- Faridabad: Lingaya’s is relevant for students choosing the B.Voc route.
Confirm whether hospital postings occur on campus or at another site, whether transport is included and how early-morning or evening clinical shifts are handled.
Scholarships and Education Budget
Scholarships may depend on Class 12 marks, entrance performance, category, domicile, sports or university policy. Ask whether the award covers tuition only, continues after year one, requires a minimum CGPA/attendance and applies during internship.
Also compare hostel, mess, transport, clinical travel, uniform, insurance, examination and annual fee increases. A higher tuition scholarship can still produce a higher total cost if compulsory extras are substantial.
BMRIT Evidence Checklist Before Payment
Use Available, Partial or Not Disclosed for every item. Do not assume missing evidence deserves a positive score.
If the exact award, admission route, clinical site, internship or complete payment schedule is not available in writing, resolve it before paying a non-refundable amount.
Common BSc Radiology Admission Mistakes
Confusing a Technologist With a Radiologist
BMRIT is not MBBS and does not make the graduate a radiologist doctor.
Comparing Different Fee Units
A semester fee, annual tuition, admission deposit and headline course total are four different numbers.
Using the Wrong Admission Route
AIIMS, GGSIPU, ABVMU, Jamia and private universities do not use one common 2026 process.
Searching for a CAHET Bachelor Rank
ABVMU bachelor merit is based on normalized Class 12 PCB marks, not a separate CAHET entrance score.
Choosing From Equipment Photographs
Ask for student rotations, supervised hours and logbook evidence.
Assuming Every Programme Is 3+1 Years
The duration and internship must appear in the current course document.
Treating B.Voc as the Same Award
B.Voc MRIT is related, but it is not automatically equivalent to BMRIT or B.Sc. RIT.
Believing General Placement Packages
Ask for outcomes from the same imaging programme, including the number of eligible and participating students.
Paying Without Reading Refund Terms
Counselling and private-university payments can follow different deadlines and deduction rules.
Paying a Personal Account
Use only an authorised institutional payment method and collect an official receipt.
