Quick Decision Snapshot

  • Fees: INR 8.55 Lakh keeps the PGDM below the INR 9 Lakh academic-fee mark for the 2026–28 batch.
  • Admission: Selection is mixed—profile screening, entrance score/GAT, GD and PI; PI alone carries 40% weightage.
  • Placement: PGDM 2024–26 was reported at INR 7.75 LPA average and INR 21.50 LPA highest, so the highest package should not be treated as the normal outcome.
  • Best For: Applicants seeking a focused PGDM with dual specialisation in areas such as AI & Business Analytics, Finance, Marketing or Supply Chain.
  • Overall Value: Better aligned with candidates wanting a management-only Greater Noida campus, multiple specialisation choices and a selection process that rewards GD/PI performance.

Overview

GNIOT Institute of Management Studies, commonly known as GIMS Greater Noida, is a private self-financing management institute established in 2020. Its academic identity is centred on the two-year full-time PGDM rather than a broad portfolio of unrelated UG and PG degrees.
The PGDM follows a trimester structure, with core subjects in the first year and electives plus dual specialisation in the second year. Learning methods include case studies, projects, simulations, certifications, group discussions, role plays, industrial visits and corporate interactions.
The institute fits applicants who want a focused management programme in Greater Noida with specialisations extending beyond conventional Marketing, Finance and HR into AI & Business Analytics, Operations & Supply Chain and Entrepreneurship. Its institutional history, however, is shorter than several older Delhi NCR business schools.

Courses and Fees

GIMS currently centres its regular academic offering on the two-year full-time PGDM. The total PGDM fee for the 2026–28 batch is INR 8.55 Lakh, and the second year allows dual specialisation from the available areas.

Admission Process

GIMS PGDM admission is not decided by the entrance-test percentile alone. Eligible graduates can use CAT, CMAT, XAT, MAT or GAT, while the final merit system combines academics, entrance performance, work experience, Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
Applications can be submitted online or offline with an INR 1,200 processing fee. The selection matrix gives 20% to the competitive entrance test, 20% to GD and 40% to PI, making the interaction rounds particularly important in final selection.

How to Apply

  1. Submit the GIMS PGDM application online or offline and pay the INR 1,200 application processing fee.
  2. The admission panel screens the profile for academic consistency, academic versatility and relevant work experience.
  3. Submit a valid CAT, CMAT, XAT or MAT score, or appear for the 45-minute GIMS Aptitude Test.
  4. Candidates with a qualifying score attend the Group Discussion on campus or virtually and complete a 500–700 word essay on the GD topic.
  5. Appear for the Personal Interview, which may be conducted online or offline.
  6. Final merit is prepared using academics, entrance-test performance, work experience, GD and PI scores.

Cut-Offs & Admission Trends

GIMS does not use one published entrance percentile as the complete admission cutoff. A qualifying entrance score enters a 100-mark merit matrix, while GD and PI together contribute 60 marks, so candidates with similar test percentiles can still have different final selection outcomes.
The entrance-score component rises with percentile: a qualifying CET score receives 5 of 20 marks, 40–50 percentile receives 8, 50–60 receives 12, 60–70 receives 15 and above 70 percentile receives the full 20 entrance-test marks.

Course and Entrance Exam
Latest Cut-Off
PGDM — CAT/CMAT/XAT/MAT/GAT
No single final cutoff; qualifying score enters merit matrix, while above 70 percentile receives 20/20 CET marks
This makes GIMS admission more profile-driven than a system where the entrance percentile alone determines the final list.

Scholarships

GIMS offers academic, entrance-exam, sports, service-family and female-student scholarship routes. Scholarship continuation requires a 7.0 CGPA, more than 75% attendance and no disciplinary action; only one scholarship category can be used by a student.
The approved scholarship is adjusted in the second instalment of the first year after the relevant eligibility documents are produced.

Career Outcomes

The seven PGDM specialisation areas create different career directions rather than one common management role. Recent placements in operations and financial-crime compliance also show that hiring extends beyond conventional sales profiles.
Career outcomes still depend on the student's specialisation, internships, communication ability and placement performance; the PGDM itself does not guarantee a particular role or salary.

Is GNIOT Institute of Management Studies GIMS Greater Noida the Right Fit in 2026?

GIMS is positioned as a focused private PGDM institute rather than a multidisciplinary university. At INR 8.55 Lakh for 2026–28, its strongest decision points are dual specialisation, an AI/Analytics-inclusive curriculum, Greater Noida location and a selection process where GD and PI together account for 60% of final merit.
The 2024–26 placement outcome has been reported at INR 7.75 LPA average and INR 21.50 LPA highest. The fit is therefore stronger for applicants targeting realistic management careers across BFSI, marketing, operations, analytics and related NCR sectors rather than selecting the institute only for its highest-package headline.

Who Should Consider GNIOT Institute of Management Studies (GIMS)?
GIMS is more aligned with profiles seeking a focused PGDM route in Greater Noida.
  • Graduates with at least 50% marks who are comfortable with a multi-stage GD/PI-based selection process.
  • Applicants with an academic budget around INR 8.55 Lakh for a two-year PGDM.
  • Profiles interested in dual specialisation, especially AI & Business Analytics, Operations & Supply Chain or Entrepreneurship.
  • Applicants targeting BFSI, marketing, operations, analytics, consulting or business-development roles.
  • Candidates who value a management-only academic environment in the Greater Noida/Delhi NCR education corridor.

Who May Prefer Other Colleges?
Other institutes may fit better for some profiles.
  • Applicants specifically seeking a university-awarded MBA degree rather than an AICTE-approved PGDM.
  • Candidates who want a management school with a substantially longer institutional history.
  • Students who want a particular specialisation guaranteed irrespective of batch demand, since GIMS links specialisation availability to a minimum 20% approved-intake condition.
  • Applicants whose first priority is the lowest possible PGDM tuition fee among Greater Noida alternatives.
  • Profiles targeting national-tier B-schools with substantially different entrance-score and recruiter benchmarks.
GIMS is worth considering in 2026 when the applicant wants its specific PGDM structure, can budget INR 8.55 Lakh and is prepared to compete through the complete entrance, GD and PI selection process.

Alumni

GNIOT Institute of Management Studies draws on a wider alumni network of more than 14,000 members working across India and international markets. Alumni events, networking interactions and career conversations can help current batches understand company expectations, job functions and early career transitions. The listed profiles represent consumer products, financial services, recruitment, and FMCG employers, which aligns with the institute’s placement sectors. Alumni access can support guidance and referrals, but the benefit depends on active participation, relationship building and relevance to the chosen specialisation.

Alumni Name
Details
Utkarsh Gupta
Berger
Arbind Raj
HDB Financial Services
Richa Sharma

The network is most useful when applicants approach alumni with focused questions about a role, company or skill requirement. General requests for placement help are less effective than conversations based on interview preparation, industry expectations or career transitions. Participation in alumni meets, mentoring sessions and professional networking can make the network more valuable than simply relying on the institution’s alumni count.
